About the role

Our global Marine Wildlife and Ornithology team is growing, and this is a great opportunity for a motivated individual.

The role is two-fold, firstly: you’ll be analysing high resolution images to record presence and identify species using in-house developed cutting edge software, and secondly, you’ll support senior team members and assist with quality assurance.

Accurate data handling and manipulation are essential skills, however the role includes scope to oversee training for junior staff and management responsibilities.

You’ll have a proven track record in bird identification, in particular seabirds and other marine wildlife from around the world. Your specialist knowledge and understanding of avian ecology will include behaviours, breeding, migration and species distributions.


About you

Your passion for ornithology is clear and as a self-motivated, enthusiastic professional, you’ll work to deadlines and be an active team player. 

You’ll hold a degree in biology / environmental science / remote sensing and be able to demonstrate proven experience in bird identification and/or marine mammal work.

Flexibility and reliability are key and high attention to detail is required, as is experience with MS Office packages such as Excel, and some experience of GIS software.
