With over 30 years’ experience, we offer our clients an integrated approach to every aspect of the investigation and management of freshwater catchments and marine habitats and operate UK wide and internationally. Our consultants are recognised experts in their fields, and as a company we pride ourselves on our commitment to scientific rigour and an excellent service in providing solutions to our clients.
So far 2019 has been a big year for APEM. We have been awarded Water Industry Consultant of the Year and we completed a management buyout. We are heading for a new record turnover and are pushing forward into a number of new areas as well as expanding our teams in our traditional areas.
About the role
We are looking for someone to manage our tenders team. This team (comprising of Contracts Coordinator, Tender and Compliance Consultant, Tenders Coordinator, Tenders Administrator and Marketing Administrator) manages the tender selection process and co-ordinates the response of the technical sections by liaising with APEM’s consultants who have the specialist knowledge required.
You will take responsibility for the co-ordination of the tender and bidding process, from origin to submission, responding to incoming tenders and managing the subsequent proposal from the company within the timescales set out and maintaining contact with the client to ensure that their requirements are fully understood.
You will also take responsibility for the production of the non-technical sections of the documents, and be skilled in the production of appropriate tender response documentation and other marketing materials. Part of the role will also involve working closely with the Finance Director and supporting the divisional directors by producing quarterly senior management reports detailing tendering process and forecasting over the year.
As Tenders and Contracts Team Manager you will also have accountability for the management and review of all contracts and legal documentation, both at tender and project award stage, creating contractual agreements and ensuring compliance from contract implementation.
As part of the wider Business Support team you will also be required to provide administrative support for the office as required.
You will have a proven track record in bid management with line management responsibilities, preferably within a consulting or scientific organisation in the water or environmental sectors.
You will be highly organised and able to deal with the completion and coordination of multiple, complex tenders at any one time. It is expected that you will quickly develop a good understanding of APEM through knowledge transfer, which will lead to the ability to select the appropriate technical teams to be consulted in relation to each tender. Therefore you will have good communication, management and team work skills, as well as being proactive and self-motivated.
